Phi Kappa Psi’s Oregon Alpha chapter was formed at the University of Oregon on January 5, 1919, and originally known as the “Owl Club.” Four years later, it was formally installed as the Oregon Alpha chapter of Phi Kappa Psi, and 54 members were initiated. It continues the Phi Kappa Psi tradition of service to others.

Since its founding in 1852, the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity has worked to encourage men to reach their full potential through lifelong service and excellence. Through shared experiences, Phi Psi brothers are able to achieve success in their careers and relationships. There are currently about 100 chapters, 50 alumni associations, and more than 124,000 lifetime initiates.

The Phi Kappa Psi Oregon Beta chapter was chartered in 1948 at Oregon State University. The chapter—like the national fraternity—values a strong connection with its community, university, and fellow Phi Psi brothers. Throughout the year, it holds events to help strengthen the brotherhood, including caroling at Christmastime and a spring campus cleanup.
